Sejak abad XVI M, di belakang kompleks Masjid Gedhe Mataram Kotagede terdapat kompleks makam kuno tempat dimakamkannya para tokoh besar Kerajaan Mataram Islam. (Since 16th century, reside an ancient graveyard where famed figured of Islam Mataram Realm, following The great Mosque of Kotagede.)
